CRM, E2.0 & social convergence

As I predicted at the start of the year, we’re beginning to see the start of a movement to tie together social, CRM, and E2.0 - and it’s @loic from Seesmic that’s in the driving seat (with just a little help from salesforce.com).

I just spotted a post on G+ from Robert Scoble with an interview of @loic about Seesmic CRM - their new product focused on the Enterprise providing a mobile interface into SalesForce using a native app on iOS, Android and WP7.

2011 Social Media Predictions Pt1

Updated on 03 May 2011 by Registered CommenterAndy Bryant

Now that I’ve had some time to digest a few of the new-year social-media predictions posts, I’ve distilled out the themes that I believe are going to be important in 2011. They follow three broad areas

  • The ability to use social media to drive sales from a tighter integration of social media, E2.0 and CRM
  • Social Media Control Centers providing a central point to allow more people across the enterprise to get involved in a controlled and efficient manner
  • Reviews sorted by your social graph, combined with location and implicit search on mobile providing information you didn’t know you needed before you thought to look for it

I’ve split this post into 2, and cover the first here, and will address the second two areas in my next post.

It demonstrates that slides don’t have to be full of bullet points to get a complicated message across - even without a speaker there to talk to the slides.

Facebook continues march of world domination

Vincenzo Cosenza has just updated his world map of the most popular social networks by country for Dec 2010.

Facebook is now the market leader in 115 out of 132 countries, although LinkedIn and Twitter are on the rise as second or third networks in many countries (Australia, Canada, Germany, France, Italy, UK and the US).

Five fatal social media errors to avoid

I just spotted an article over at marketing profs from Maria Ford covering 5 fatal social media errors, and how to avoid them (via @samirbalwani).

The article points out that too-often social media is tacked onto a campaign, without thought of an end-end strategy.

This results in a flood of communications - but without the engagement we really need. We’re all suffering from communications overload - so as marketeers, the more we can do to tune the message and the audience, the better targeted we can be.
