A nice easy hike to a good viewpoint on the north-eastern corner of the Vercors. There’s a good parking spot at the south-east corner, just above Engins at the Centre Aere in Galizere.
Finding the start of track is a little tricky, but just look for the green/yellow trail markers. Once you get past that and up into the woods, you also have to keep an eye out for the markers due to the number of logging trails in the area.
The views from La Dent du Loup to the north east are the best, only slightly marred by the electricity pylons that cross the peak. There’s a small peak on the Plateau Sornin which provides a good view over Grenoble - from where I took the panorama below. As you head up to the popular La Moliere plateau (accessible by car), you’ll pass a deep gorge on the left containing some neolithic rock art at the base.
